SURVIVAL Art Review is an art event focused on the maximal confrontation with the viewer, which is organized in the public space of Wrocław, outside typical exhibition sites. Art is given the opportunity to exist outsi

de the space where its presence is justified and protected, and

comes to a clash with the reality ruled by mass media, advertisement, economy and politics. In this clash it can both prove its grandeur or expose its weakness and redundancy.

The 9th edition of SURVIVAL takes place in the Stanisław Tołpa Park located on the border between two quarters of Wrocław: Śródmieście and Ołbin (nearby the crossing of  the streets Wyszyńskiego, Nowowiejska and Prusa).

The motto of the 9th edition of SURVIVAL is the subtitle: 'When a park becomes an arena', which refers to the accumulating of citizens activity in allotted, recreational arteries, typical esthetics of such places, as well as to the free use of open city spaces.

The archetype and an unchanging pattern, which has been used for ages in all parks, is the natural landscape. The core and value of any park is its uniqueness. This results, for the most part, from its situation, natural background, cultural features of a region, social and economic conditions.
